Job description

Are you an experienced Field Service Technician looking for a stable, rewarding opportunity with a company that values your skills? Eads Cooling Solutions is seeking a Field Service Technician/QC Inspector to join our team, where safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service are our top priorities. ABOUT THE ROLE

This position provides on-call field service labor, troubleshooting, and training at customer locations on air-cooled heat exchangers to ensure reliable operation and optimum performance. This may include performing preventive maintenance, emergency and warranty repairs, commissioning of new equipment, and customer requested modifications or repairs. The role also includes making travel arrangements and managing travel costs and operating expenses associated with field service visits to ensure Eads is an efficient field service provider.

This position is also responsible for the quality inspection of incoming and outgoing materials, products, and compliance with engineering documents, company standards, and customer requirements. This individual runs tests, checks for defects, keeps accurate records, analyzes product, and ensures production follows quality protocols. It may be required to go to outsourcing locations to ensure quality, as well as conduct quality inspections at the company locations.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Travel to field sites throughout the United States to provide customer support for air-cooled heat exchangers.
  • Perform inspections / assessments of air-cooled heat exchangers and make recommendations for repairs / modifications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment on air-cooled heat exchangers.
  • Replace various mechanical components, such as fans, shafts, bearings, etc., at field sites.
  • Install various structural materials / bracing via bolting and/or welding.
  • Startup and shut down equipment in accordance with company and customer safety procedures in line with OSHA requirements.
  • Perform various tests, such as air flow analysis, vibration testing, hydrostatic testing, etc.
  • Perform trial test runs when work is completed to ensure performance and quality meet established specifications.
  • Document services provided and parts used for invoicing purposes.
  • Advise operators and customer mechanics / maintenance personnel of operating procedures for working safely around equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance service calls on customer equipment.
  • Assist customer maintenance personnel with technical and procedural troubleshooting techniques.
  • Assist and train customer maintenance and supervisory personnel on how to operate equipment and perform maintenance tasks.
  • Inspect product, materials, and other items for defects.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards,
  • Keep accurate records of test results and other relevant information.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine inspections of in-process materials and products.
  • Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits.
  • Perform visual inspection, non-destructive testing (NDT), and other quality tests.
  • Identify quality issues and recommend solutions.
  • Supply quality data for submission.
  • Participate in audits.
  • Provide feedback to company and suppliers.
  • Document and report on internal and supplier performance.
  • Other duties as assigned/directed by management.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associates degree or Quality training from a Technical School preferred
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, Air Coolers preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in inspection and/or fabrication required; minimum of 10 years preferred
  • Experience with Nondestructive Testing, such as Liquid Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Radiography Film Interpretation, preferred
  • Customer service and sales
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal & written skills
  • Troubleshooting and solving technical problems independently
  • Field service experience preferred
  • Proficient welding experience preferred
  • Industrial painting experience preferred
  • Working successfully within a team
  • Basic PC skills
  • Experience with MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to read and use gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other inspection equipment
