Job description

Responsibilities

Peraton  is seeking an Artillery Domain Test Engineer Advisor for our Picatinny Arsenal, NJ office.

What you will do:

  • Devises testing plans, methods, and equipment to assure reliability of product in conjunction with product design and specifications.
  • Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment.
  • Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
  • Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.
  • Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area such as in a field environment.
  • Consults with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications. Performs analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of products.
  • Develops testing procedures, test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests. Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes.
  • Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
  • Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically. 
Qualifications

What you will need:

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with PhD, in lieu of degree 16 years of related work experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain Secret Security Clearance
  • Must have detailed knowledge of and experience in software testing

Preferred:

  • Field Artillery knowledge with experience in a Fire Direction Center controlling M109A6, M109A7, M777A2s, or Digitized M119s or as a cannon crew member on the same systems
  • Strong working knowledge of AFATDS 
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Security clearance
  • Have a basic understanding of Software Development Lifecycle
  • Proven ability to perform software root cause analysis
  • A+ Hardware Certification
  • Ability to evaluate software code according to specifications
  • Ability to code and interpret multiple programing languages  
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of operating systems
  • Experience in automated software testing
  • Proficient in development of test procedures and cases based upon requirements
  • Good understanding of software design

Target Salary Range$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
