Meet the Team
The 15.4 NPI Applications team is at the forefront of bringing Silicon Labs' latest wireless technologies to market. Working directly with leading IoT customers and internal product teams, the team helps accelerate adoption of technologies such as Zigbee, Thread, and Matter while influencing the evolution of Silicon Labs' wireless solutions through real-world customer feedback.
As part of the Wireless NPI organization, the team operates at the intersection of customers, engineering, and product management. Team members play a key role in enabling successful product launches, solving complex technical challenges, and driving strategic design wins that shape the future of connected devices.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical expert supporting customers integrating Silicon Labs' IEEE 802.15.4 wireless software stacks.
  • Lead the debugging, analysis, and resolution of complex embedded software, networking, and system-level issues in customer applications.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation, training materials, application notes, and example applications.
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product management, and customer-facing teams to improve product readiness, solution quality, and customer experience.
  • Champion customer needs by translating field feedback into actionable product and process improvements.
  • Guide customer engagements throughout the product lifecycle, from evaluation and design through deployment and production.
  • Drive Alpha customer engagements, including use-case validation, technical risk assessment, feedback collection, and production readiness activities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of best practices, technical knowledge, and team processes.

Skills You Will Need
Minimum Qualifications
  • BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
  • Strong proficiency in embedded C and embedded software architecture.
  • Excellent problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and debugging skills in embedded systems.
  • Experience with networking software, protocols, and distributed system interactions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working directly with customers and cross-functional engineering teams.

The following qualifications are considered a plus:
  • Experience with wireless technologies, particularly IEEE 802.15.4-based protocols such as Zigbee, Thread, and Matter.
  • Familiarity with low-power embedded systems, IoT device development, and wireless networking concepts.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Applications Engineering, Field Applications Engineering, or Technical Support.
  • Experience driving technical engagements with strategic customers and influencing product direction through customer feedback.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $101,500 - $188,500 USD. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
