Batt & Blown Insulation Installer
iFOAM of Northwest Arkansas

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced insulation installer for residential new builds and existing retro fit residential remodel work. Position functions include installing Batt, blown loose fill and other various insulation materials in home attics and walls of new and retrofit applications.
Experience is highly preferred – pay will be based on experience level. Pay range is $16-$18 an hour

Key Responsibilities

Installation

  • Install fiberglass batt insulation in walls, floors, ceilings, and rim joists per job specs and code requirements
  • Operate blowing machines to install loose-fill cellulose or fiberglass insulation in attics and enclosed wall cavities
  • Achieve correct R-values and coverage depths per plan specifications and local energy code
  • Install vapor barriers, baffles/chutes, and attic ventilation accessories as required
  • Perform insulation removal/retrofit work in existing homes when scoped (e.g., attic clean-outs prior to re-insulating)
  • Cut, fit, and seal batt insulation around obstructions (wiring, plumbing, HVAC ducts, recessed lighting) per fire and safety code
Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Set up, operate, and break down blowing machines and hose lines at job sites
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot common machine issues (clogs, hose blockages, feed problems)
  • Safely load and transport insulation material (batts, bales) to and from job sites
  • Maintain and clean equipment, trucks, and trailers per company standards
Job Site Practices

  • Read blueprints, floor plans, and work orders to determine insulation type, R-value, and coverage areas
  • Measure and calculate material needs (bags/bales per area) to minimize waste and ensure adequate coverage
  • Maintain clean, safe job sites, including proper disposal of packaging and excess material
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, and GCs on-site
Safety & Compliance

  • Follow OSHA 29 CFR 1926 safety standards, including respiratory protection, PPE, and fall protection in attics and elevated work areas
  • Wear appropriate PPE (dust masks/respirators, safety glasses, gloves) at all times when handling insulation material
Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of experience installing batt and/or blown-in insulation, or equivalent construction/trades experience
  • Working knowledge of insulation R-value requirements and basic energy code compliance
  • Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, and other confined or elevated areas for extended periods
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate insulation blowing machines
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Preferred

  • Experience with new construction insulation installs (production home building)
  • Familiarity with IECC/local energy code requirements by climate zone
  • Experience installing radiant barrier, attic baffles, or ventilation accessories
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry insulation bales/bags (typically 25–50 lbs) repeatedly throughout the day
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in tight, hot, or dusty attic and crawlspace environments
  • Ability to wear PPE, including respiratory protection, for extended periods
  • Extended periods of kneeling, crouching, reaching overhead, and physical labor in varying temperatures

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday with occasional Saturday work based on job volume
