Senior Business Development

Location

Summary

The Senior Business Development Professional is responsible for driving strategic customer engagements, developing key partnerships, and expanding CommScope’s Datacenter Business Unit into emerging applications of fiber optical connectivity inside advanced high performance compute system with system OEMs. This role leads opportunity assessment, technical solution development, revenue and profitability growth, risk management, and customer satisfaction across a portfolio of strategic accounts. The position requires building business plans, aligning internal stakeholders, identifying technical solution concepts, securing resources, and ensuring high quality delivery while cultivating strong customer relationships.

The role carries a forward-looking mandate: exploring co-packaged optics, optical scale up solutions, and next generation fiber technologies including new fiber types and connectivity solutions. The objective is to position CommScope for long term growth by evaluating new technology applications, developing product concepts, and building a robust commercial pipeline – working closely with other Amphenol business units part of the Amphenol Communications Division.

  • Expected to lead high impact initiatives that shape future business direction.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Customer & Partner Engagement —

  • Strengthen relationships with Amphenol high speed group and other business units inside Amphenol communications division. Coordinate engagements with Amphenol and CommScope business teams.
    • Engage with target OEM customers and system integrator to gather Voice of Customer information, technical requirements and validate proposed solution concepts.
  • Guide CommScope R&D & PLM in development of new solutions — Lead requirements gathering, influence strategic engineering investigations, and drive product roadmaps, and projects to execute quick turnaround prototyping as well as large scale production ramps required to meet customer needs.
  • Explore New Technology Domains — Evaluate opportunities in the field of co‑packaged optics, novel fiber types and advanced connector technologies. Develop architectural solutions meeting customer requirements.
  • Market & Technology Intelligence — Maintain deep understanding of supplier ecosystems, standards, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies.
  • Build Opportunity Pipeline — Identify, qualify, and develop commercial opportunities; generate IP, prototypes, and design proposals.
  • Drive Commercial Execution — Coordinate responses to near‑term opportunities and develop compelling commercial proposals.
  • Lead Marketing Initiatives — Position CommScope solutions through targeted marketing, conference participation, and industry events.
  • Develop Strategic Alliances — Direct the creation and maintenance of partnerships supporting new business objectives.
  • Lead Large, Complex Projects — Coordinate cross‑functional project teams and oversee delivery quality.
  • Develop Strategic Assessment Frameworks — Build innovative strategies to strengthen existing business and identify new growth adjacencies.
  • Lead Complex Negotiations — Manage high‑stakes negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promote Co‑Creation Opportunities — Advance opportunities to co‑market and co‑develop CommScope products and services.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 10–13 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of system architectures, electronics, connectivity technology

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Post‑graduate coursework or degree desirable.
  • Industry experience in IT, networking, or semiconductors is more critical than formal education

Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Wide range of experience resolving complex issues using professional concepts and company objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective team collaborator.
  • Technical knowledge of networking architectures, transceiver technology, fiber optics, chip industry trends, and semiconductor packaging.

Our salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. The expected salary range for this position is $135,000-$176,000 annually based on hired level and experience. The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company’s Incentive Plan. Candidates starting with the Company will be eligible for eleven paid holidays in a full calendar year, two weeks of paid vacation (prorated based on start date), as well as other leave options.
