Description

Cascade Process Controls is hiring a Fiber Optic Splicer that will be responsible for installing, splicing, testing, and maintaining fiber optic cables to ensure reliable network performance. This role supports the construction and operation of telecommunications infrastructure, including underground and aerial fiber systems.

  • Perform splicing of fiber optic cables in both new construction and maintenance environments
  • Prepare cables by stripping, cleaning, and cleaving fibers prior to splicing
  • Install and repair aerial and underground fiber networks
  • Conduct testing using equipment such as OTDRs and power meters
  • Troubleshoot issues like signal loss, fiber breaks, and connectivity problems
  • Read and interpret fiber schematics, splice diagrams, and network maps
  • Maintain accurate splice records and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
  • Work in outdoor environments, confined spaces, or elevated positions

Requirements

  • Experience with fiber optic splicing or telecommunications work
  • Knowledge of fiber color codes, cable types, and network architecture
  • Ability to operate tools such as:
    • Fusion splicer
    • Fiber cleaver
    • OTDR and test equipment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift equipment and work in various weather conditions
