Job Description:

A Brief Overview
Routine cleaning to providing a clean environment. Ensures the cleanliness of patient rooms, public areas, lounges, restrooms and other assigned areas in such a way as to ensure that the departments/ clinics standards are maintained. Duties include cleaning rooms and offices, empty trash and linen receptacles, vacuum, dust, sanitize and spot clean, check and fill all dispensers, clean restrooms, dry mop floors, sanitize floors. Perform any combination of light cleaning duties to maintain the hospital, in a clean and orderly manner. Duties include making beds, replenishing linens, cleaning rooms and halls, and vacuuming. May perform the destruction of discarded patient health information.
What you will do

  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, micro-fiber rags, and squeegees.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Gather and empty trash and recycling.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
  • Extract or shampoo carpets.
  • Routine clean patient rooms, offices, public areas, procedure rooms and ancillary areas using the 8 step method.

Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Preferred
  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience Preferred
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
