The Senior FHIR Mapping & Integration Analyst plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex FHIR-based mapping and interoperability solutions that enable seamless healthcare data exchange. This role requires deep expertise in HL7 FHIR standards and the ability to lead implementations as organizations transition from legacy data exchange to modern FHIR-based interoperability. The position partners closely with engineering, product, and clinical stakeholders and operates as a shared expert across multiple teams.
* Our preferred candidate would reside in Columbus, OH to support a hybrid work schedule, but we will consider a highly qualified fully remote candidate

What You'll Do:
  • Analyze healthcare data from EHRs, payer systems, and HL7 v2 feeds and map to FHIR R4 resources and profiles
  • Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of FHIR-based data mappings from HL7 v2, CCDA, X12, and proprietary formats
  • Create and maintain FHIR source-to-target mappings, transformation logic, and conformance documentation
  • Apply HL7 Da Vinci Implementation Guides (PAS, CRD, DTR) to support prior authorization and coverage workflows
  • Perform terminology mapping using standard code systems (SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm, ICD-10)
  • Identify and resolve complex data quality, mapping, and performance issues across integrations
  • Validate FHIR payloads using conformance and testing tools and support integration and UAT testing
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship on FHIR standards, best practices, and implementation approaches

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics or a related field, or equivalent, and typically requires 7+ years of experience in healthcare data analysis, integration, and mapping
  • Hands-on expertise with HL7 FHIR R4, including resources, profiles, bundles, and extensions
  • Experience mapping from HL7 v2, CCDA, X12, and/or proprietary EMR formats to FHIR
  • Experience mapping from HL7 v2, CCDA, X12, and/or proprietary EMR formats to FHIR
  • Working knowledge of Clinical Quality Language (CQL), including use within Da Vinci DTR workflows
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

Preferred Skills / Experience:
  • Direct experience implementing HL7 Da Vinci Implementation Guides (PAS, CRD, and/or DTR)
  • Experience supporting CMS interoperability and prior authorization initiatives (e.g., CMS-0057)
  • Experience working with major EHR platforms such as Epic or Cerner
  • Familiarity with CDS Hooks in CRD/DTR workflows
  • Experience working with FHIR servers (e.g., Azure Health Data Services, HAPI FHIR, Epic/Cerner endpoints)
  • Exposure to FHIR validation and testing tools such as HL7 validators or Touchstone
  • Experience leading or significantly contributing to enterprise-level FHIR implementations
