Description and Functions Open Until Filled GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Wyoming Pioneer Memorial Museum, Camp Douglas Officers' Club State Historic Site, and Fort Fetterman State Historic Site are exceptional historical sites located in Douglas, Wyoming. Fort Fetterman is 8 miles from Douglas and sits on the high plains of the Bozeman Trail overlooking the beautiful North Platte River. Camp Douglas Officers' Club is the only building still standing in its original location from the WWII era, when Douglas had a POW camp that housed German and Italian POWs.

The Wyoming Pioneer Memorial Museum, located on the Wyoming State Fairgrounds, is a large two-story museum that offers visitors a well-rounded historical perspective of Wyoming from its prehistoric Mammoth bones to the Pioneers who shaped our state. The Oregon, Mormon, California, Bozeman, and Pony Express trails all pass through Douglas, offering views of the Laramie Mountain Range and the Medicine Bow National Forest, where the North Platte River runs, providing hiking, fishing, and camping opportunities just minutes away. Two different types of seasonal positions are to be filled as part of this announcement: Maintenance and Visitor Services.

Seasonal Visitor Services Associate: Greet visitors, collect admission fees, and provide excellent customer service. Answer visitor questions and provide pertinent information about the site, including interpretation and orientation of facilities and local points of interest

Handle monetary transactions, which include fee collection and gift shop sales. Responsible for cash register reconciliation. Responsible for restocking gift shop shelves and tracking inventory.

Answer a multi-line telephone system nd transfer calls to appropriate personnel. Assist with general administrative duties, reports, and data entry. Perform opening and closing duties, as well as cleaning and maintenance as needed.

Assist all North Platte District sites with special projects and events. Seasonal Maintenance Worker: Perform routine building, grounds, and landscape maintenance, minor carpentry repairs, painting, and mowing. Assist staff in the construction, installation, maintenance, and renovation of grounds and buildings, and preventive maintenance.

Clean and service restrooms, shelters, and buildings, and remove litter from grounds, parking lots, and other public areas. Operate and/or drive a variety of vehicles, including light and heavy equipment. Operate various maintenance equipment,including mowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and other equipment required in daily operations.

Utilize various hand and power tools. Follow proper handling and safety procedures involving cleaning chemicals and fuel products encountered in daily operations, including proper Personal Protective Equipment usage. Provide excellent customer service.

May interact with the visiting public, answering basic questions. Assist all North Platte District sites with special projects and events. Qualifications PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS: For each seasonal position, preference will be given to applicants who are professional while providing excellent customer service.

**Must have a valid driver's license. **Must be at least 16 years of age. KNOWLEDGE: Detail-oriented, accurate, and thorough in completing assignments/tasks.

Good interpersonal skills allowing the ability to interact with visitors from around the world. Willingness to work on a variety of assignments every day. Experience in handling money, cash registers, and retail sales.

Must possess excellent customer service skills. Ability to manage and complete multiple projects with variable timelines and scopes of work. Basic construction and maintenance knowledge.

Basic operational knowledge of light and heavy equipment use, as well as hand and power tools. Basic safety awareness of equipment use. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: None - See "Preferences" Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Must work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, with or without assistance. NOTES: FLSA: Non-Exempt Seasonal positions require irregular hours of work including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
