Job description

The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture.

Summary

This position is responsible for the unloading of trucks as they come into the Plant with raw product.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for unloading the raw product into designated bays and bins in an efficient, safe and timely manner.
  • Required to safely pull inspection samples from each truckload. Ensures sampling is conducted according to proper procedures.
  • Required to help maintain good housekeeping in the receiving area.
  • Required to keep an even and adequate flow of raw product from the receiving bays into the Plant.
  • Required to control the pit water and keep proper blend system going as instructed by the team leader.
  • Required to operate all equipment between bays and Form line bins.
  • Required to keep rocks cleared from flumes, clean rock traps, and take potatoes from rock take-away belt.
  • Required to collect and evaluate the elimination and re-elimination sample.
  • Ensures sanitation operations are performed in an efficient manner to meet Company Standards.
  • Ensures attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills andknowledge.
  • Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies.
  • Ensures self-compliance with Company policies and procedures and Union Labor Agreement.
  • Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a participative management style conducivewith operational goals.
  • Conducts self in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the jobfunction while representing the Company.
  • Ensures that additional accountabilities as may be required by management be handled in a manner necessary to meetoperational and divisional standards.
  • Must be able to complete training on the safe operation of the lift truck and successfully pass and maintain certificationrequirements. This training and certification are requirements in accordance with both WAC 296-24-230 and WAC 296-24-23025.
  • Must be able to complete training on fall protection and must meet and maintain fall restraint requirements. This training andrequirements are in accordance with WAC 296-155-245 through 24525 and WAC 296-24-75005.

Overtime requirements in this position are common, and may be required to meet operational goals.
