Fertility Software information

What is fertility software?

Fertility software refers to digital tools or applications designed to help individuals and couples track, monitor, and enhance their reproductive health. These platforms often allow users to log menstrual cycles, ovulation, symptoms, and other health data to predict fertile windows and support conception efforts. Some fertility software also integrates with wearable devices, offers educational resources, and gives access to telemedicine with fertility specialists. They can be valuable for those trying to conceive, managing reproductive health issues, or simply understanding their bodies better.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a fertility software specialist?

To thrive as a Fertility Software Specialist, you need a solid background in healthcare informatics, reproductive medicine, and software implementation, often supported by a degree in health IT or a related field. Familiarity with fertility clinic management systems, EMRs specific to reproductive health, and data security certifications is typically required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and training skills help you support clinical staff and streamline workflows. These abilities are crucial for ensuring accurate patient data management, regulatory compliance, and smooth adoption of technology in fertility practices.

What are some common challenges faced when working in a fertility software role, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals working in fertility software roles often encounter challenges such as integrating sensitive patient data with existing healthcare systems, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations like HIPAA, and adapting to rapidly evolving clinical protocols. To address these challenges, it's important to stay up-to-date with industry standards, collaborate closely with medical professionals to understand workflow needs, and participate in regular security and compliance training. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving are vital for success in this fast-paced, collaborative environment.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

We are seeking an experienced and driven Sr. Software Engineer Manager to lead a high‑performing team of software engineers and QA professionals. In this role, you will own delivery, quality, and the growth of your team while partnering closely with product and technology leadership to build award‑winning products we offer our clients. Our Engineering Managers are hands‑on technical leaders who bring both strategic vision and the willingness to dig into the details alongside their team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead the day‑to‑day execution and operations of an engineering team, ensuring high‑quality delivery, strong ownership, and predictable outcomes.
  • Manage and support team members through all aspects of people leadership, including performance management, career development, and feedback.
  • Partner closely with Product and Design to define priorities, shape roadmaps, and deliver customer‑centric solutions aligned to business goals.
  • Own delivery outcomes for your team—balancing speed, quality, and sustainability while managing dependencies and risks.
  • Coach and develop engineers and technical leads, helping them grow both technically and professionally.
  • Provide technical leadership by guiding architectural decisions, promoting sound engineering practices, and supporting design discussions across services and systems.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence within the team.
  • Collaborate with peer engineering managers and cross‑functional stakeholders to align on priorities and drive cohesive, scalable solutions.
  • Champion modern engineering practices, including cloud‑native development, observability, and automated testing.
  • Ensure systems are reliable, scalable, and well‑instrumented, with strong focus on performance and operational visibility.
  • Support and evolve team processes, including Agile ceremonies, planning, and delivery practices.
  • Empower Lead Engineers to mentor others, scale knowledge, and elevate technical execution across the team.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • 10+ years of experience building and delivering software, with a strong background in modern web applications and distributed systems.
  • 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams, including direct people management responsibilities.
  • Deep experience with cloud‑native architectures and building scalable, resilient services.
  • Strong experience with backend and API‑driven systems (e.g., REST, GraphQL, event‑driven architectures).
  • Experience working with modern frontend technologies (e.g., TypeScript‑based frameworks).
  • Hands‑on experience with technologies such as Java/Spring, relational databases (e.g., Postgres), and distributed systems tools (e.g., Kafka, Redis).
  • Experience deploying and operating applications in cloud environments (preferably AWS), including containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code and deployment tooling (e.g., Helm, Argo, Ansible).
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and automated testing strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and drive clarity amid ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to hire, grow, and retain high‑performing engineering teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Experience building and operating SaaS platforms at scale.
  • Familiarity with secure application design, identity, and access management (e.g., Okta).
  • Experience with modern UI frameworks (Vue.js preferred).
  • Background in healthcare technology, data platforms, or revenue cycle management.
  • Experience leading teams working with event‑driven architectures and microservices.
BENEFITS & PERKS
  • Competitive total rewards (base salary + bonus, if applicable).
  • Customizable benefits package (3 medical plans with Health Saving Account company match).
  • Generous paid time off for non‑exempt team members: 3 weeks + 13 paid holidays, including 2 personal floating holidays; flexible time off for exempt team members + 13 paid holidays.
  • Paid parental leave (including maternity + paternity leave).
  • Education assistance opportunities and free LinkedIn Learning access.
  • Free mental health and family planning programs, including adoption assistance and fertility support.
  • 401(K) program with company match.
  • Pet insurance.
