Job description

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

The Warehouse Team Lead plays an integral role in ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse, overseeing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This position involves coordinating the daily activities of warehouse personnel and ensuring the accuracy of shipments and inventory. By maintaining a clear line of communication between warehouse staff and management, the warehouse lead ensures that operations run efficiently and effectively. Through their leadership, they support the overall objectives of the warehouse, ensuring that all orders are fulfilled on a timely basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Acting in a team lead capacity over a specific function of the logistics operation.

Training staff on specific responsibilities and tasks.

Supporting various human resources tasks such as attendance and day-to-day performance.

Communicating customer needs and updates effectively to logistics department.

Communicating potential temporary associate needs to Account Lead or Supervisor.

Assisting with overseeing inventory of customer products and warehouse equipment and supplies. Assisting with overseeing the receiving, shipping, picking, packing, VAS, and other departments, as instructed.

Completing day-to-day operations in the warehouse as needed, including receiving, shipping, picking, packing, VAS, and other departments.

Adhering to and enforcing safety standards set by company and OSHA.

Performing additional duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES.

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

2+ years' experience in logistics warehouse environment / 1+ years' experience leading teams and projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma, GED, or education in logistics or supply chain

Forklift machinery certification.

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role requires individuals to talk, hear, use hands, stand, walk, sit, and see.

Ability to lift, lower, and maneuver packages between 20 and 70 lbs.

This position involves heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching.

A collaborative culture of logistics and supply chain enthusiasts.

Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment around machinery and moving parts.

Warehouse duties may be subject to varying temperatures and high levels of dust and noise.
