Industry UsageBilling method for healthcare servicesHealthcare profession providing rehabilitative care

The two are related in healthcare but differ in purpose: one is a payment method, the other a specific healthcare role.

What are examples of fee for service?

Fee for service in a job context typically involves being paid a set fee for each individual task, project, or service performed, such as consulting, legal advice, medical procedures, or freelance work. This payment structure is common in professions where services are billed separately from hourly or salary arrangements, often requiring detailed invoicing and clear scope definitions.

What is a fee for service position?

A fee for service position is a job where the worker is paid a set fee for each specific service or task performed, rather than receiving a regular salary or hourly wage. This model is common in professions like healthcare, consulting, and freelance work, where payment is based on completed work or services provided.
