What is a fee appraiser?

A fee appraiser is a licensed professional who provides independent property appraisals for a fee. Unlike staff appraisers who may work directly for banks or appraisal firms, fee appraisers are typically self-employed or work for appraisal companies on a contract basis. Their work involves inspecting properties, researching market data, and preparing detailed appraisal reports that comply with industry standards.
