Job description

American Transportation Services has an immediate opening for qualified trailer/tractor mechanic. Qualified candidates must be a self-starter with the ability to work remotely with little to no supervision. We provide a friendly & stable work environment primarily focused on day shift hours M-F. Selected candidates will be responsible for maintaining trailering equipment as well as performing minor external repairs on yard spotting equipment (switchers) for a Fortune 500 package delivery company.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Qualified Mechanic 1-3 years as a mechanic, ability to diagnosis and repair switchers, trailers, and converter dollies. Must be qualified to perform state and federal inspections. Trailer Experience and Diesel needed minimum 1 Year, responsible and organized.

Experience in: trailer/mechanic (similar) a plus

Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

  • Perform FAI and State required inspections.
  • Inspect and repair ?S? cam air brake systems.
  • Diagnose and repair anti-lock brake systems.
  • Perform repairs to commercial trailers and converter dollies in all potential aspects.
  • Familiar with Cummins Insight
  • Diverse diagnostic skills
  • Roll-up Door experience
  • Minor body work experience
  • AC experience a plus
  • Must be able to use Word/Excel to update reports to and from ATS & FedEx
