Job description

Operates company vehicles and provide courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages; to check shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service; to coordinate all operations relating to the interface between FedEx aircraft loading/unloading activities and responsibilities required of a courier and/or tractor-trailer driver. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from other person. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Effectively communicate verbally in a time sensitive manner in noisy operations environment.

Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

Job Conditions

FMCSA covered safety sensitive position. Medical exam required. Subject to regulatory alcohol & drug testing, which includes testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine & opioids. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned. Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the federal motor carrier safety regulations. Neat appearance since customer contact is required.
