Job description

Delta74 Logistics is a FedEx contracted service provider seeking a professional Class A driver to operate 5-6 nights per week originating from the Houston metro area.

Driver may operate out of Aldine, TX Baytown, TX Cypress, TX or Missouri City, TX based on operational needs at time of hire. All run assignments are overnight, no conversion to a daytime shift is currently being offered or advertised. Run assignments are typically line haul runs 450-610 mile roundtrips or local runs totaling between 200 and 300 miles nightly. Line haul runs may include any of the following destinations: Dallas, Fort Worth, Victoria, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Covington, Lake Charles and more. Run assignments exceeding 60 miles in one way duration are paid at 60CPM, run assignments under 60 miles in one way duration are paid at 90CPM. Assignments of these runs are based on the operational needs of FedEx and not driver preference. Driver must be willing to safely operate run assignments at night without impeding on time arrivals and departures. Doubles endorsement and experience required.

This is a home daily position, all run assignments are issued within the allotted HOS guidelines allowing a driver to return to the duty origin daily. Pay is weekly and paid cents per mile. Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a clean FMCSA Clearinghouse. Looking to hire immediately and start no later than June 15. Average weekly take home pay for a 5 day work week is $1300.

Responsibilities
- Hook both FedEx 53ft trailers and FedEx 28ft doubles safely and completely as required
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned tractor
- Utilize FedEx dispatch system to record all dispatched miles accurately by way of mobile device
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving. Perform basic maintenance on assigned tractor including wiper replacement, fluid refilling, light bulb replacement, and tread depth check.
- Maintain accurate logs of working hours and vehicle maintenance using Motive ELD
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with dispatchers and FedEx personnel

Requirements
GREAT ATTITUDE

-Valid commercial driver's license (CDL class A) with a clean driving record
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable experience driving tractor with trailer
- Ability to drive long hours without unexpected fatigue
- Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety protocols
- Must obtain and maintain doubles/triples endorsement prior to first day of work
- Must be willing to work an extra day each week during peak season

-Must have and be able to operate a smart phone including downloading various applications as part of the job.
