The Outside Salesperson is expected to interact with existing and potential customers to maintain favorable relationships and increase the company's sales of products and services. The incumbent should be able to resolve customer issues/problems and develop new prospects. The Outside Salesperson should also be familiar with all sales processes and procedures; be knowledgeable of the auto parts industry; have excellent organizational and communication skills.
Hours: 40 Hours per week - Monday through Friday
Pay: Salary PLUS commission & Company Car
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform daily sales calls on a prescribed route via driving a vehicle;
  • Responsible for presentation and demonstrations of new products;
  • Present and maintain customer programs, credits, and core returns;
  • Present pricing and product change updates, obtain catalogs and distribute price sheets to customers;
  • Prospect and develop new accounts;
  • Resolve customer issues and/or problems in a timely and effective manner;
  • Organize customer clinics as required;
  • Attend monthly Sales Meetings and additional training seminars as required to maintain current trends;
  • Monitor customer account balances and collect monies owed;
  • Maintain customer sales records;
  • Must report to work in a continuous timely manner;
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and driving record which meets the underwriting
  • standards;
  • Responsible for meeting all criteria and policies as set forth in the Company Employee Handbook, Driver's Handbook, and Fleet Safety Policy;
  • Assists in special projects as requested.

Requirements
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • A minimum of 5 years of sales experience preferably in the automotive industry is
    desired with a proven record of continuous progressive sales records;
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred;
  • Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report must be obtained by applicant and submitted for
    approval prior to hire date and satisfactory MVR must be maintained;
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.

REQUIREMENTS OF WORK:
  • A professional working attitude and be customer service oriented;
  • Ability to use resourcefulness and tact in meeting new problems;
  • Ability to maintain customer and co-workers relationships in a positive/professional
    manner;
  • Ability to assemble/organize/maintain sales data;
  • Ability to analyze, understand, and prepare reports as needed
  • Able to communicate both orally and in writing in English, and follow complex oral
    and written instructions;
  • Proficient computer skills preferred;
  • Use appropriate phone skills and demonstrate excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to work varied hours to obtain goals and vision of Company and position;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

WORK SCHEDULE:
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that would allow you to work an assortment
    of days, evenings and/or weekends (as needed) designed to provide quality service,
    while successfully growing the business with profitability and integrity.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted or greater than 50 lbs with assistance;
  • Frequently required to sit/drive for long periods of time;
  • Occasionally walk, stand, reach, lift, carry, bend, kneel, push, pull, crouch, squat,
    bend, twist, and stoop;
  • Also required to climb, balance, crawl, talk, speak, and hear;
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
    vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus;
  • May be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical
    parts, high/precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions,
    various degrees of cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, items of bulky or varying
    weight, risk of explosion, and/or vibration. Noise level may be moderate to heavy;
  • Must have considerable mobility;
  • Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with general public,
    to understand highway traffic signs & signals, to respond to officials, and to make
    entries on reports, logs, and records;
  • Keep vehicle clean and check fluids regularly;
  • Follow all company rules including safe driving policies and procedures and report
    any and all accidents / injuries immediately to management.
