Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Student Worker to serve as a Fitness and Recreational Sports Lifeguard at the Lombardi. This position is responsible for enforcement of all aquatic programs policy and procedures, responding to water and medical emergencies, sets-up and breaks down request for special programs when necessary, and conduct general pool maintenance.
The Fitness and Recreational Sports department goal is to ensure a fun and safe environment for patrons and staff at the Lombardi pool.
Responsibilities
Enforce aquatic program policy and procedures
Effectively communicate with patrons, student staff and professional staff
Attend all required trainings and meetings
Assess and ensure safe environment for patrons and staff
Conduct general pool maintenance
Work special events at the Lombardi pool
On time arrival for all shifts, trainings and events
Respond to water and medical emergencies
Some evening and weekend work as required
Support supervisors
Required Qualifications
Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno
Candidate must have a minimum 2.0 GPA
Lifeguards must possess a good attitude
Strong communication skills
Required Certifications
Candidate must have a current Lifeguard Red Cross Certification
CPR (Provided by FRS if needed)
