Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Student Involvement department on the Gainesville campus. Nigel's Nook is a student wellness space created by the Student Government Association and designed for rest, relaxation, and recharging. The Student Assistant will serve as the point of contact for students using the space, helping maintain a calm, inclusive, and welcoming environment. This position is ideal for students who are reliable, approachable, and passionate about well-being. The space is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the center for Student Engagement and Leadership in various tasks.
  • Monitor the space to ensure a calm, respectful atmosphere is maintained.
  • Manage usage of wellness items (e.g., nap pods, headphones, fitness equipment, meditation supplies, art supplies, books, etc.) and ensure they are returned in good condition.
  • Tidy the space regularly, sanitize surfaces between uses, and restock supplies (e.g., wipes, blankets, resource handouts) and report maintenance needs or any concerns to professional staff.
  • Track space usage data as requested (logins, feedback, etc.).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and other computer software.
  • Knowledge of UNG and student experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
