About Us
Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree-granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. MGA has five campuses-Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins, all located in central Georgia-and global outreach through its fully-online campus. The University has six academic schools, including Georgia's flagship aviation program, that support its mission to educate and graduate inspired, lifelong learners whose scholarship and careers enhance the state.
Job Summary
In this position, students will have the opportunity to assist with the daily operations of the Center for Career and Leadership Development (CCLD) by aiding in the provision of student-centered career, leadership, and professional development services as well as providing support for career advisors, program coordinators, and the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily office operations including, but not limited to answering phones, scheduling appointments, making copies, distributing mail, assisting walk-ins, taking headshots, etc.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients and staff in both oral and written forms about Handshake, interviewing, professional attire, career fair prep, LinkedIn, job search, and other services.
  • Facilitate communication and promotion of the CCLD to students at school events like orientation and club rush, and when hosting information tables on campus to encourage department usage and attendance.
  • Assist the Director, career advisors, and other specialized assistants with tasks pertaining to marketing (including surveys) for the CCLD and leadership programs.
  • Referring to and assisting students in taking career assessment tests (e.g., Focus2).
  • Maintain The Professional Closet including sorting donations, organizing clothing, and writing receipts.
  • Help maintain data related to event attendance, graduation surveys, Handshake usage, survey information, etc.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Must be currently enrolled Middle Georgia State University student in a minimum of 6 credit hours
  • Knowledge of computers and software programs (e.g., Microsoft Office 365).
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Critical and creative thinking skills
  • Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures
  • Customer service experience
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Knowledge of aviation programs and services
