Job description

Blaster/Painter $18/hr


Our client in the Conroe, Texas area is seeking to hire a Blaster/Painter on a full-time, temporary/contract basis. Responsibilities include preparing equipment surfaces through sandblasting and sanding, applying primer and paint per specifications, and operating an overhead crane to move materials and equipment to staging areas.


Skills Required

  • Reliable, dependable, and consistently on time
  • High attention to detail
  • Previous sandblasting experience (must be shown on resume)
  • Previous experience using 2-part epoxy paint (must be shown on resume)

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare paint equipment and paint for application
  • Prepare equipment surfaces via sandblasting, hand sanding, taping, and pneumatic/hand-operated sanders or grinders
  • Move materials and equipment to staging areas using an overhead crane
  • Apply primer and paint per specifications
  • Cross-train into other areas as needed to support production schedules
  • Operate an overhead crane
  • Complete on-the-job training during the first two to three weeks of employment
  • Stand and work more than 8 hours daily, including weekends as required
  • Work in a non-climate-controlled plant environment (no air conditioning)
  • Assist with general plant housekeeping (sweeping, trash removal, proper chemical storage, etc.)
  • Follow all safety and environmental policies; use required personal safety equipment; report safety concerns or injuries promptly
