Whether providing technical consultation, conducting laboratory studies, performing failure investigations, or offering expert testimony, we aim to solve our clients' problems and assist in achieving their objectives. Beyond delivering mere data, our team provides a foundation of confidence upon which our clients can build.

The Structural Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and evaluating structural systems to ensure buildings and other structures are safe, stable, code-compliant, and economical. The role involves structural calculations, design development, preparation of construction documents, coordination with architects and other engineering disciplines, and support during construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead investigations across a spectrum of forensics, including structural collapses, building performance failures, water intrusion issues, building envelope failures, and materials investigations.
  • Manage projects and client relationships.
  • Develop business for CTLGroup in new markets and/or practice areas
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians when applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required. Applicants from closely related fields with commensurate experience in the civil/structural engineering profession will be considered. Advanced degree in these fields preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license required depending on jurisdiction.
  • 5-10 years of experience with increasing responsibility and client interaction.
  • Experience leading investigations that focus on structural engineering failures, building performance issues, and/or forensic engineering investigations.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience.
