Summary of Role:

This role is responsible for managing projects for facilities, equipment, and system changes at facility. Specific duties include: Applying project management principles to lead cross functional teams to develop project scopes, obtain funding approval, and implement new or modified facilities, process equipment, and infrastructure. The role will lead the development, analysis and/or implementation of solutions to complex technical issues from idea generation, design, implementation, through project completion. Leading cross-functional project teams including manufacturing, engineering, utility operations, maintenance, quality assurance, and validation to implement facilities and equipment upgrades, changes and installations. Provide technical expertise as required to manage and/or perform troubleshooting and resolve equipment and facility issues in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design and/or construction for various size engineering projects of significant scope and complexity, developing project proposals including business drivers and benefits, cost estimates, and execution plans.
  • Managing capital and expense projects in compliance with global and site standards and procedures to ensure project objectives are achieved safely, on time, on budget, and meeting all quality requirements.
  • Experience managing projects in and around active operations and renovating existing facilities and equipment
  • Lead the execution of both new construction and renovation projects in office, lab, utility, and support areas including contractor supervision and commissioning/validation of systems.
  • Ability to develop project schedules, implementation plans, budgets, develop cash flows, business justification and project design documentation
  • Communicate effectively across multi-functional teams across the company (remote or otherwise) including frequent review of progress vs. schedule vs. cost with appropriate team and provide regular update to client and management.
  • Supervise, coordinate and review work of other team members or third-party resources on an ongoing basis as well as on a project basis.
  • Motivate project team to a successful outcome and ability to work independently & collaboratively.
  • Personal mobility to relocate to be onsite at New Albany, OH facility.

Location: New Albany, OH / Juncos, PR


Education:Doctorate degree in engineering or related technical field and 6 years of directly related experience ORMaster's degree in engineering or related technical field and 10 years of directly related experience ORBachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field and/or 15 years of directly related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ or more years' experience in project management for lab or manufacturing environment
  • Broad knowledge and experience with design, planning, construction, and startup of all types of projects with experience in GMP manufacturing, utility systems preferably with both biologics and synthetics manufacturing
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in design, engineering, troubleshooting and cross functional team leadership. Development of programs and processes for project management.
  • Proficient presentation and facilitation skills


This position is for a fixed term contract supporting one of ECHO Consulting Group (a Cencora company) partners on site at their facility.
