Job description

Role Overview
The Pega Developer will join our enterprise technology team within a large retail banking environment. This role is focused on designing, developing, and supporting Business Process Management (BPM) solutions using the Pega Platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building case management workflows, configuring business rules, and integrating systems within a regulated financial services environment. This is a development-focused role with exposure to the full SDLC, including build, test, deployment support, and production stabilization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop Pega applications including case types, flows, sections, UI components, and data models.
  • Configure business rules, decision tables, and declarative rules within the Pega Platform.
  • Participate in application design sessions and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop and consume REST and SOAP APIs to support system integrations.
  • Perform unit testing, defect resolution, and peer code reviews.
  • Support application deployments and assist with production issue analysis and remediation.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA teams, and senior developers in an Agile delivery model.
  • Contribute to documentation including technical design artifacts and configuration specifications.
Required Qualifications/Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Pega development.
  • Hands-on experience with Pega 8.x or later versions of the Pega Platform.
  • Understanding of case management, workflows, and decisioning frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
  • Experience integrating applications using REST and/or SOAP web services.
  • Familiarity with DevOps concepts, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to Pega frameworks such as Customer Service or Smart Dispute.
  • Experience working in a retail banking or financial services domain.
  • Understanding of compliance, auditability, and secure application design within regulated environments.
  • Pega CSA or CSSA certification (preferred but not required).
