As a Fire Protection Engineeryou will work alongside a robust staff of experienced and licensed Fire Protection Engineers to develop and use your skills and experience to deliver and complete challenging and engaging buildings projects across many different markets with our Cities & Places business, in many different regions locally, nationally, and around the world.

The Engineer will be directing the activities of design staff to produce drawings and calculations for fire sprinkler systems, special hazards suppression systems, fire pumps, fire alarm and mass notification, and building/life safety codes analysis. Previous design experience is a plus but please do not self-select yourself out of a position and all that are interested in a career in fire protection engineering are encouraged to apply.

Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Safety Technology or other related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of related professional experience.
  • PE in any U.S. State, having passed the fire protection engineering examination.
  • Will not now or in the future require sponsorship for an employment visa (examples: H-1B, L-1B, or other temporary visa status like OPT or F-1) to work for Jacobs in the U.S.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
  • Familiarity with NFPA and ICC codes and standards
  • Willingness to travel to jobs sites around the world (estimate around 10-15% travel)
  • Experience in fire sprinkler, suppression, and fire alarm system layout utilizing hydraulic calculation programs, and knowledge of NFPA Codes, and International Building and Fire Codes

The salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target new hire salaries for this position across all listed U.S. locations. Factors such as location and level of experience will be considered.

The base salary range for this position is $91,400.00 to $159,900.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
