JOB DESCRIPTION
Technician -Child Nutrition
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assure the smooth and efficient operation of the Child Nutrition Department record system. Maintaining precise recordkeeping and budget control for the department.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work at desk, counter, bend, reach, and stand as required to perform assigned duties. Must be able to carry out job responsibilities independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Records details of financial transactions in appropriate journals and ledgers.
2. Maintains complete and systematic records of all financial transactions of the department.
3. Tracks and records purchases monthly and at years end for inventory and audit purposes.
4. Keeps updated on procurement procedures by attending workshops and classes.
5. Implements, as directed, state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the Child Nutrition Programs.
6. Obtain and organize pertinent data and prepare reports or other documents as directed.
7. Maintains appropriate files and records for all programs under the Child Nutrition Department.
8. Maintains accurate accounting practices, receiving, records income and expenditures and maintains budget control for
Department.
9. Has knowledge of the Child Nutrition Programs, USDA Free/Reduced Program.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Diploma/GED and two years business college (AA) or three years of directly related work experience.
2. Able to work well with the public and District One staff.
3. Demonstrate proficiency in speaking, reading and writing English.
4. Must be computer literate including spreadsheets and databases.
5. Ability to comply with district guidelines regarding confidentiality.
6. Capacity to carry out instructions and develop with a minimum of supervision.
7. Ability to use discretion and independent judgment.
