Job description

Baptist Health is looking to add a Registered Nurse to its Pediatric Operating Room at our Wolfson Surgery Center. This is a PRN, Day shift opportunity with a commitment of 2-3 days per week. As a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Surgery Center, you will work closely with physicians and all operating room teams. This Registered Nurse will check in and receive patient assignments. A day in the life of this Operating Room Registered Nurse will vary based on scheduled surgeries. This RN may work with a singular patient in a complex case or may work with multiple patients having shorter procedures. This RN will work as a Circulating Nurse and will meet patients in the OR and remain with them for the duration of their procedure to ensure they are appropriately cared for until transferred to PACU care. As a Registered Nurse Circulator, you will be the patient’s primary advocate and responsible for the delivery and documentation of patient care during the intra-operative period. This may include verifying patient information, positioning the patient, managing the room, and initiating counts.

As an RN in the Pediatric Operating Room, your responsibilities will include:

Responsible for coordination, preparation of assigned room/case

Assessment of patients, anticipation of needs of the case

Perform accurate and complete documentation

Knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique and sterilization processes.

No call coverage or holiday call.

Must have OR experience or Periop 101 class

Experience Requirements

1-2 years Perioperative Nursing Experience

Education and Certification Requirements

Associate of Science in Nursing (Required)

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Preferred)

Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

Licensed Registered Nurse Required
