ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
LoneStar Fasteners is looking for the right, qualified individuals to join our team!! We have 1 immediate Cut-Thread Operator position (full-time) open within the Production area for our 1st shift at our facility in Spring, TX! The Landis Cut Thread Operator will set up and operate various Landis cut thread machines to perform production machining operations where sequences, set-up methods, material and tooling are specified by process drawings, work orders and other documents for use in our customers industries.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance policies.
  • Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
  • Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of part/product, sequence of operations and/or set up requirements.
  • Measure, mark and otherwise indicate the dimensions and reference points on the part or material to be used as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Select, align and secure the holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials; on machines to include but not limited to saw, chamfer and center drilling.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate various machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut.
  • Start and monitor machine operation to detect any malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining. Adjust the machine controls or control media as necessary.
  • Verify conformance of finished part to ensure that it meets specifications
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE
  • 1-2 years experience setting and running Landis cut thread machine
  • Fasteners industry experience preferred.
  • Side loader and forklift experience preferred.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Strong math and mechanical skills aptitude.
  • Ability and desire to do precision work with a keen attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong customer-focus.
  • Able to read, understand, interpret and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing specifications.
  • Ability to adjust to changes without compromising Quality or Performance.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise cooperatively with other departments/functions.
  • Must be able to work a shift schedule and mandatory overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays.
  • Open-minded to coaching/feedback, learning, training, and development.
  • Flexible approach to work, with the ability to multi-task.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to stand for the duration of scheduled shift.
  • Moderate physical effort handling parts. Equivalent to frequently exerting average effort. Ability to manually load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, platforms, saws, and trucks. Able to lift items weighing up 50 lbs repetitively.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.
  • Manual dexterity using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, lift, and hammer.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention in cleaning. Diversified duties requiring constant alertness or activity
