Job description

Overview

DataRobot delivers AI that maximizes impact and minimizes business risk. Our platform and applications integrate into core business processes so teams can develop, deliver, and govern AI at scale. DataRobot empowers practitioners to deliver predictive and generative AI, and enables leaders to secure their AI assets.

This is a fully remote AI Engineer role on our Professional Services team, working with strategic customers to translate complex business challenges into AI solutions that deliver tangible business value. The role involves designing, building, and deploying a wide range of applications—from predictive models to Generative AI agents and chatbots. Travel to visit clients onsite is possible up to 25%–50% of the time.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Customers: Collaborate with customer stakeholders to understand business goals, identify high-impact use cases, and define technical requirements for AI solutions.
  • Build & Deploy AI Solutions: Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end AI solutions using the DataRobot platform and open-source tools, including:
    • Agentic AI: Develop and deploy agents on DataRobot using frameworks such as Langgraph, CrewAI.
    • Generative AI: Build custom GenAI chatbots and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.
    • Predictive AI: Develop and deploy traditional ML models for use cases like forecasting, churn prediction, and fraud detection.
  • Serve as a Technical Expert: Advise on DataRobot platform use and modern AI/ML development, including MLOps, model governance, and scaling AI initiatives.
  • Deliver Value: Ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with customer business objectives.
  • Communicate & Collaborate: Present complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, from data scientists to executives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • AI & Machine Learning Expertise: Proficiency in Python and data science libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy).
  • Experience with Generative AI technologies, LLMs, vector databases, and end-to-end agentic AI lifecycle (building agents in frameworks like LangGraph or CrewAI, deployment and monitoring at scale).
  • Application Development & Operations: Experience building and deploying applications, including REST APIs (Flask, FastAPI) to serve ML models and GenAI logic.
  • Containerization with Docker and deployment on Kubernetes (K8s).
  • Secure development practices: authentication/authorization (OAuth, API keys), secrets management, and securing public endpoints.
  • Customer Focus: Experience in client-facing or consulting roles with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to lead technical discussions.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Curiosity and ability to solve complex, unstructured problems.
Requisite Education and Experience
  • Experience: ~6–8 years in AI application development, software/ML engineering, or similar, with a track record of deploying AI solutions into production.
  • Education: Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, AI, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
  • Cloud Experience: Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • DataRobot Experience: Familiarity with the DataRobot AI Platform is a plus.
  • MLOps Knowledge: Understanding of MLOps principles and tools for CI/CD, monitoring, and governance.
Compensation & Benefits
  • U.S. annual on-target earnings (OTE) range: $165,000 – $225,000 USD/year (base + targeted commission). Actual offers depend on location, skills, experience, and education.
  • Benefits may include Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance; Flexible Time Off; Paid Holidays; Paid Parental Leave; Global Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and more (varies by location).
Employment Policies
  • DataRobot is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, status as a protected veteran, disability, or other legally protected characteristics.
  • DataRobot is committed to accommodating applicants with disabilities as required by law.
  • Use of AI in our hiring process is limited to approved tools and does not replace human decision-makers. All official communications come from verified DataRobot domains.

DataRobot is committed to a safe and secure hiring process. Be vigilant for recruitment scams and verify job offers through official channels. Do not provide money or sensitive information outside of DataRobot’s standard recruitment process.
