The Sign Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of sign manufacturing, from project intake to final delivery. This role ensures production efficiency, quality control, and on-time completion of signage projects while managing staff, equipment, and materials. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with hands-on production knowledge in the signage or graphics industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operations of the sign production department, including scheduling, workflow, and staff supervision
  • Oversee the fabrication of various signage types (e.g., vinyl graphics, illuminated signs, banners)
  • Ensure all products meet company quality standards and client specifications
  • Coordinate with sales and design teams to review project requirements and timelines
  • Maintain production schedules and ensure deadlines are consistently met
  • Monitor inventory levels and order materials as needed
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate production staff to maintain high performance and safety standards
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate maintenance or repairs
  • Implement and enforce safety procedures and best practices
  • Optimize processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste
Qualifications:
  • 35+ years of experience in sign production or a related field
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of sign fabrication techniques, materials, and equipment (e.g., CO2 Laser, large-format printers, laminators)
  • Ability to read and interpret design files and technical drawings
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with production software and workflow systems is a plus
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with vinyl application, electrical signage, and installation processes
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and printer RIP software
  • Lean manufacturing or process improvement experience
Work Environment:
  • Production facility/warehouse setting
  • May require standing for extended periods and lifting materials
  • Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines
