Job description

Overview:  

Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks an Assistant Store Manager to join its Ontario Mills location in Ontario, California. The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in the daily operation of the store including the overall management of the team, merchandise, and sales results. They will lead by example and deliver positive and inclusive client experiences which contribute to the overall commercial success. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

Sales Support: 

  • Demonstrate leadership by playing an active role on the selling floor 

  • Support the sales process as needed 

  • Assist in facilitating solutions to customer issues  

  • Model the standards for customer service  

  • Uphold company and store standards, policies and procedures 

Visual Merchandising: 

  • Ensure store visual merchandising standards are met and maintained 

  • Support the Visual Team in planning and performing any necessary changes in visual environment 

  • Review sales frequently and take action on visual merchandising to improve sales 

Staff Training and Development: 

  • Provide guidance to sales and support teams – deliver constructive feedback and learning opportunities  

  • Support the Store Manager with the recruitment, training, development, and succession of team members 

  • Develop, train, and continuously motivate associates towards achieving and exceeding sales objectives  

Operations: 

  • Support the Store Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the store to ensure the store meets key performance indicators and profit and loss expectations  

  • Maintain inventory accuracy and shrink rates within company standards by regularly following up with operations and implementing initiatives as needed 

  • Perform any special projects or tasks as directed by the Store Manager 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 5+ years’ retail experience  

  • Previous experience managing others within a customer service environment required   

  • Proven record of motivating, developing, and coaching team members 

  • Strong analytical skills - ability to analyze retail KPI’s and on-floor behaviors  

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills  

  • Passionate about the customer experience  

  • Ability to connect to the customer through excellent service, strong visual presentation and business acumen 

  • Delivers Excellence - demonstrates passion and empathy, anticipates and exceeds client expectations 

  • Cultivate an Entrepreneurial Spirit - embraces change and new opportunities while remaining true to the DNA of Marc Jacobs

  • Computer skills including operating a POS and navigating Microsoft Office suite

SALARY & BENEFITS/WHAT WE OFFER:  

The compensation for this position ranges from $25 - $27 CAD (hourly). The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
