Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Interpreter and Translator to facilitate clear and effective communication across diverse languages and cultural contexts. This role is vital in bridging language barriers, ensuring accurate translation of written documents, and providing real-time interpretation during meetings, conferences, and other interactions. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional linguistic abilities, cultural sensitivity, and a passion for fostering understanding in multilingual environments. This position offers flexible remote and in-person assignments supporting schools, healthcare organizations, courts, community programs, government agencies, and public events.

Duties

  • Provide accurate interpretation services in real-time during meetings, conferences, phone calls, and events across multiple languages.
  • Translate written documents, reports, correspondence, and multimedia content with precision and cultural appropriateness.
  • Assist in the development of multilingual materials to ensure clarity and accessibility for diverse audiences.
  • Support communication between bilingual or multilingual individuals by facilitating smooth dialogue and understanding.
  • Utilize American Sign Language (ASL) to interpret for deaf or hard-of-hearing clients or colleagues when required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards in all translation and interpretation activities.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify language needs and recommend effective solutions for cross-cultural communication challenges.

Languages Needed
Spanish, American Sign Language (ASL), Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Farsi/Persian, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Russian, Armenian, Punjabi, Urdu, Korean, Tagalog, Hindi, Somali, and other languages.

ASL & Spanish Requirement
We are currently seeking at least 3 qualified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters and 1 experienced Spanish Interpreter for ongoing remote and in-person assignments.

Skills

  • Multilingual proficiency in at least two languages; fluency in English is essential.
  • Strong translation skills with an eye for detail, accuracy, and cultural nuance.
  • Expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across multiple languages.
  • Bilingual capabilities that enable seamless switching between languages during conversations.
  • Deep understanding of linguistics principles, syntax, semantics, and contextual usage.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while managing multiple projects effectively.
