AeroFarms is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Danville, Virginia. This role will support core accounting operations and play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls. Position will report to our Accounting Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections tracking, and reconciliation of customer accounts
  • Prepare and review cash reconciliations and ensure accurate recording of daily cash activity
  • Own Inventory accounting, including posting of inventory consumption to production and ending inventory balances each period.
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to revenue, receivables, and cash
  • Assist with revenue recognition and related accounting analysis
  • Partner with operations and sales teams to resolve billing and collection issues
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing supporting schedules and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed

Qualifications
  • CPA required
  • 5+ years of accounting experience (public accounting or corporate accounting)
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, food production, or high-growth companies a plus
  • Experience with accounts receivable, cash reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
