We are seeking a Farm Manager I to join our South Dakota/Northwest Iowa team. This role is ideal for an agricultural professional who enjoys building relationships, working directly with landowners and operators, and helping clients achieve the goals they have for their farms and ranches.

What You'll Do

As a Farm Manager, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to absentee and non-operating landowners, overseeing the management of agricultural properties and ensuring clients receive outstanding service and results.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, operators, agricultural professionals, and community influencers
  • Review and evaluate farm and ranch properties to understand client objectives and identify opportunities for improved performance
  • Develop annual farm plans and operating budgets
  • Recommend projects and improvements that enhance profitability, conservation, and land stewardship
  • Manage lease agreements and work closely with operators to support successful farm operations
  • Process and review farm income and expenses while assisting clients with account and budget questions
  • Conduct soil analysis reviews, coordinate seed and fertilizer purchases, and complete crop inspections and harvest estimates
  • Gather and analyze comparable land sales and lease data for market evaluation purposes
  • Collaborate with administrative and accounting teams to deliver professional reporting and exceptional client service
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with clients regarding property performance and goals
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, or a related field preferred
    • Associate degree plus 4+ years of relevant experience considered
    • High school diploma/GED plus 8+ years of relevant experience considered
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional agricultural experience
  • Knowledge of crop production, farm operations, land management, and agricultural business practices
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Real Estate Associate License or ability to obtain within the first year of employment
Travel Requirements
  • Frequent regional travel (approximately 40%) to visit properties, meet with clients and operators, and attend company and industry events
