Job Title: Aircraft Teardown Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on the mechanical disassembly of decommissioned cargo aircraft to recover, inspect, and remove usable components for storage and resale. Technicians work on multiple aircraft over extended project timelines and handle a variety of mechanical tasks related to aircraft structures, engines, and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble decommissioned cargo aircraft in a systematic and safe manner to recover usable parts.
  • Identify and locate mechanical, structural, and system components on the aircraft in accordance with project requirements.
  • Inspect components for condition and usability prior to removal and prepare them for storage and resale.
  • Mechanically remove aircraft components using appropriate hand tools and equipment.
  • Perform tasks such as engine removals and brake or axle changes as part of the teardown process.
  • Follow detailed instructions and procedures for aircraft teardown to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Use strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot removal challenges and adapt tools and methods as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around the aircraft during disassembly activities.
  • Comply with all airport and site safety regulations, including access and badge requirements.
  • Coordinate daily work activities with team members to ensure timely progress on each aircraft.
  • Work full shifts from early morning through evening as needed to meet project timelines.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on mechanical skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilmington, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
