Job description

Fulfillment Team Associate

Founded in 2002, Pat's Pastured is a leader in pasture-raised and grass-fed meat production in Rhode Island. Our farm is committed to humane, regenerative farming practices that support healthy animals, living soil, and thriving local food systems. While our values are rooted in sustainability, our success is driven by a highly collaborative and results-oriented team focused on delivering high-quality products and exceptional service to our customers.

We're seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Fulfillment Team Associate to support the day-to-day execution of our order fulfillment operations. This role is well-suited for candidates with experience as a fulfillment associate, warehouse associate, shipping & receiving associate, or inventory associate.

This is a hands-on position focused on accurately picking, packing, labeling, and staging orders for our farm store, home delivery routes, local pickup locations, and nationwide shipping. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to follow established systems and procedures.

This role requires someone who can work independently, manage their time effectively, and consistently follow established procedures and instructions. While part of a larger team, the Fulfillment Team Associate is often responsible for completing tasks independently and is expected to stay on task, communicate issues proactively, and meet daily fulfillment deadlines without constant supervision.

The majority of this role is performed in refrigerated and freezer environments, and candidates must be comfortable working for extended periods in cold conditions while maintaining accuracy, focus, and food safety standards.

The Fulfillment Team Associate works as part of a structured fulfillment team and reports to a fulfillment supervisor or manager. This role does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pick, pack, label, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Pack meat and perishable food products following food safety and temperature control standards
  • Stage and organize completed orders for on-time pickup, delivery, and shipping
  • Assist with shipping and delivery preparation, including labeling, documentation, and packaging materials
  • Maintain clean and organized fulfillment areas including packing stations, coolers, and freezers
  • Follow inventory handling procedures including product rotation, lot tracking, and accurate placement
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock checks as assigned
  • Must be willing and able to drive for weekly deliveries, supply pickups, or occasional farm-related errands
  • Provide support with light farm chores as needed, including egg washing, feeding guard animals, and similar tasks.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned based on operational needs.
  • Support in-store customer pickups with a friendly, professional attitude
  • Identify and report order discrepancies, inventory issues, or product concerns promptly
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety protocols
  • Contribute to team efficiency by following workflows and suggesting process improvements when appropriate
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in fulfillment, warehouse operations, food service, retail, grocery, or production environments preferred but not required
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Experience with packing, shipping, inventory, or order accuracy is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Comfortable using basic technology such as iPads, scanners, or inventory software
  • Willing and able to work in cold environments (refrigerated and frozen spaces)
  • Able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Reliable transportation; on-site position in East Greenwich, RI
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout shifts
  • Frequent work in cold storage environments
  • Fast-paced during peak hours with changing priorities
Why Work With Us?
  • Stable, year-round employment with a growing local food business
  • Mission-driven work supporting sustainable agriculture and local food systems
  • Structured training and clear expectations
  • Collaborative team environment with supportive management
  • Opportunities to develop skills in logistics, inventory, and food fulfillment
  • Employee discounts on farm products and access to educational experiences on food and farming
Compensation
  • $18.00 โ€“ $20.00 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Full-time: approximately 40 hours per week; Mondayโ€“Friday (in person only)
  • Health insurance is not provided
  • Generous employee discounts

Ready to join a growing farm business and be part of the team that gets great food into our customers' hands? We'd love to hear from you.
