Job Duties
Provides the consistent, effective and efficient monitoring of the implementation and application of good farming principals by staff as they pertain to all farm operation aspects as provided to this facility in the function of the Farm Manager as providing a means to ensure compliance with farm operational standards. Plans and directs the operation of a dairy cattle farm operation.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Considerable knowledge of livestock care and breeding.
Skill in operating tools and equipment associated with the required work. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to plan and direct work of others. Demonstrated ability to compile budget requests and monitor expenditures. Demonstrated ability to coordinate services with other institutions, departments and agencies. Skilled in performing employee relations management functions. A valid driver's license.
Additional Considerations
Previous experience in animal husbandry or related areas. Progressively reasonable experience, which includes management of a farming operation. Prior supervisory management experience. Knowledge of institutional security procedures. Commercial Driver's License, Pesticide Applicator License, A.I. Certification
