Job description

YC Ranch is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and animal-loving individual to join our team as a Pet Trainer & Ranch Maintenance employee. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, caring for animals, and maintaining a beautiful ranch property.


Position Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for training and exercising dogs, assisting with the daily care of ranch animals, and performing general ranch maintenance to ensure the property remains clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Responsibilities


Pet Care & Training

  • Train and reinforce obedience commands for dogs.
  • Exercise and socialize dogs daily.
  • Feed, groom, and monitor the health and well-being of dogs.
  • Clean kennels, play areas, and animal enclosures.
  • Assist with administering medications as directed.
  • Maintain training records and report any behavioral or health concerns.

Ranch Maintenance

  • Perform general ranch maintenance and repairs.
  • Operate tractors, mowers, utility vehicles, and other ranch equipment (experience preferred).
  • Maintain fencing, gates, barns, and other ranch structures.
  • Mow, trim, and maintain landscaping.
  • Keep ranch buildings, equipment, and grounds clean and organized.
  • Assist with irrigation, tree care, and seasonal projects.

Animal Care

  • Feed and care for chickens and other ranch animals.
  • Clean animal shelters and ensure adequate food and water.
  • Monitor animals for injuries or illness and report concerns promptly.

Qualifications

  • Experience training dogs or working with animals preferred.
  • Experience working on a ranch, farm, kennel, or similar environment is a plus.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Basic maintenance and repair skills preferred.
  • Honest, dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends or holidays as needed.
