Job description


Fear Farm is now hiring General Labor Crew members to support our 2026 build, preparation, and event season. This is a hands-on, temporary role ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work, collaborative environments, and being part of a large-scale live event.

Position: General Labor – Event Setup, Build & Preparation
Location: Fear Farm (on-site)
Season Dates: May 15 – August 30
Schedule: Monday – Friday, typically 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (with flexibility on extremely hot days)


Position Summary
This role supports the build, preparation, and ongoing development of our haunted attraction and event site. Work is fast-paced, collaborative, and physically demanding, involving manual labor, scenic construction, custom fabrication, and the safe use of tools and equipment. Hours are project-based and may vary depending on timelines, operational needs, and weather conditions.

We’re building a versatile team—you do not need experience in every area to apply. If you’re reliable, safety-minded, and willing to learn, we want you on board.


Key Responsibilities

Event Build & Setup (Primary Focus):

  • Assist with construction, assembly, and installation of scenic elements, props, and event infrastructure.

  • Build and install immersive environments and themed attractions.

  • Load, unload, move, and organize materials, tools, and equipment.

Manual Labor & Site Operations:

  • Perform physical labor including lifting, carrying, staging, and positioning materials (up to 50 lbs).

  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.

  • Support daily site readiness and operational setup needs.

Tools, Equipment & Safety:

  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and basic equipment as trained.

  • Follow all safety procedures and supervisor direction.

  • Contribute to a culture of safety and accountability on site.

Collaboration & Execution:

  • Work closely with supervisors, carpenters, scenic artists, and operations teams.

  • Execute tasks efficiently under tight deadlines and evolving priorities.

Off-Season Preparation & Maintenance:

  • Clean, inspect, repair, and organize event equipment (tents, tables, AV, props, signage, etc.).

  • Assist with storage organization, inventory tracking, and trailer loading/unloading.

  • Perform basic groundskeeping (mowing, debris clearing, light landscaping).

  • Support minor repairs and touch-up work on site infrastructure.

What We’re Looking For

  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic.

  • Comfortable performing physical labor and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively on a team.

  • Willingness to learn tools, equipment, and build techniques.

  • Previous experience in construction, general labor, events, or haunted attractions is a plus, but not required.

Position Details

  • Temporary/seasonal role with project-based hours.

  • Consistent weekday schedule during primary build season (May–August).

  • Additional hours, weekends, or seasonal work may be available based on event needs.
