Job Title: General Labor / Forklift Driver

Reports To: Plant Manager

Position Summary

Scan tickets and properly complete paperwork. Stack and un-stack totes and pallets; move totes and pallets throughout the facility; dump product from totes into hoppers or tanks; weigh and tag product coming off the line; housekeeping and keeping work area neat and organized; conducting daily forklift checks;  wash, line, and/or repair totes to ready for use; and operate lines as needed; misc. lab work.

Essential Functions

  • Scan tote and pallet tickets to help maintain inventory accuracy
  • Attach proper tote and pallet tickets to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Dump product into hopper; keep line running efficiently
  • Weigh product and record weight on tickets
  • Stack and un-stack totes and pallets
  • Maintain forklift as required
  • Operate forklift safely at all times
  • Complete daily forklift check list
  • Change propane as needed
  • Conduct brine quality checks and maintain documentation
  • General housekeeping of facility
  • Other duties as assigned

Competencies and Certifications Required

  • Good communication skills
  • Trained and knowledgeable in the use of  PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Must pass respiratory fitness test
  • OSHA Forklift license

Physical Demands of Job

The employee must be able to perform the physical demands listed below to perform this specific job functions:

  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Frequent sitting while operating forklift
  • Occasional climbing, bending, stooping, and twisting
  • Occasional lifting and/or pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

The work environments listed here are representative of those that may be encountered by employee while performing the functions of this job:

  • Wet or humid conditions
  • Extreme temperatures
  • Exposure to brine (sulfur dioxide, pH of solution to 3.0)
