Public Benefits Specialist (Guardianship & Conservatorship) / Paralegal
This is a full-time, on-site role as a Public Benefits Specialist at Browning & Associates, P.C. in Bingham Farms, MI. As a Public Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for managing clients' government benefits such as Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, and food assistance. You will be preparing applications, responding to requests for information during the application process, providing information to verify continuing disability, and staying updated on policy changes and regulations.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Apply online and in person for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid for clients.
โ€ข Receive and review correspondence from Social Security and MDHHS.
โ€ข Respond to requests for information and proof by providing medical records.
โ€ข Appear in person for appointments at our local Social Security and MDHHS office to provide information as requested.
โ€ข Maintain client information and files in an organized manner, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
โ€ข Maintain records and report on client benefits.
โ€ข Assist with client budget management
Qualifications
โ€ข Strong knowledge of Social Security benefits, Medicare, Medicaid, and other State and Federal entitlement programs.
