Job description

Role Summary:

Drives and operates farm machinery to prepare fields and plant, cultivate, and harvest field crops such as cotton, milo, etc. by performing the duties as outlined in this job description.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate ability to operate and attach/hook-up all farm/heavy equipment.ย 
  • Visually inspect equipment and vehicles operated each day and report items in need of repair.
  • Perform various manual labor duties including filling sprayer tanks with water and chemicals according to formula.
  • Operates field-type sprayer equipment from (ATV) presses lever, points nozzle and applies herbicide to selected area.ย 
  • Keep work areas and equipment clean.
  • Perform all safety requirements as identified in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  • Assist in training new employees. Attend and participate in company safety programs.ย 
  • Ability to operate other equipment in the Functional area.ย 
Required Skills/Abilities:ย 
  • Ability to work daily and extended hours as necessary.
  • Requires ability to properly manage and handle pesticides, fertilizers, fuels and lubricants.
  • Requires ability to understand and comply with posted work rules and procedures.ย 
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions.ย 
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Must have a valid driver's license in good standing and be able to safely operate vehicles.
