Job Title: Matchday Host
Department: Match Presentation
Reports to: Director, Match Production and Fan Engagement
Position Summary:
The Matchday Host is a key position within the FC Cincinnati and TQL Stadium team. This position will be responsible for assisting in the overall activation elements at TQL Stadium. The role will engage and entertain fans and will help elevate activation messaging through TQL Stadium and Washington Park. The Matchday Host must have exceptionally strong communication, creative and organizational skills and be deadline-driven in execution. They must collaborate with Match Production to ensure effective and appropriate fan engagement. A strong understanding and familiarity with key match presentation skills - organization, performance, and live entertainment production skills - are necessary.
What You'll Do:
  • Provide live entertainment and engagement during home matches to enhance the overall fan experience.
  • Coordinate and host Washington Park activities, promotions, and contests to keep fans entertained during breaks in the game.
  • Engage with fans in the stadium, encouraging crowd participation, and creating a lively and positive atmosphere.
  • Conduct on-field interviews with fans, players, coaches, and other team personnel (when necessary). This may involve impromptu or scripted interactions.
  • Work with partners to integrate promotions and giveaways into the matchday entertainment, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for both fans and partners.
  • Collaborate with the match production team to plan and script in-game entertainment elements, ensuring they align with the overall matchday experience.
  • Manage crowd energy and dynamics, encouraging positive fan behavior and sportsmanship.
  • Be flexible and able to adapt to changes in the match schedule, weather delays, or other unforeseen circumstances.

What You'll Bring:
  • Previous experience as an event host, emcee, or in a similar role with a focus on live entertainment.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for engaging with fans and creating a fun atmosphere.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to connect with a diverse audience.
  • Ability to read and respond to the energy of the crowd, adjusting the level of engagement accordingly.
  • Collaborative and able to work effectively with other game day staff, including production crews, mascots, and promotional teams.

  • Basic understanding of soccer and FC Cincinnati preferred.

  • Currently pursuing or obtained bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Journalism, Film, Mass Media or related field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to positively engage fans, sponsors, and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions.
  • A strategic planner with the ability to execute at a high level to bring the plan to life.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with integration of multi-branded marketing and sponsorship environment.
  • Ability to independently resolve issues and manage issues effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with superior attention to detail
  • Computer skills necessary, knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel required.

Work Hours
In addition to normal business hours, weekend, evening, and holiday work will be required as schedule and project workload dictates.
