Key responsibilities
Own the development and execution of the fan experience, including brand, marketing, social media, content, game presentation, and community programming.
Lead the club's marketing efforts to build a recognizable brand and attract fans, including translating the brand into Miami-specific identity and creating matchday experiences.
Manage the end-to-end matchday product, including run of show, music, sound, and entertainment to enhance the fan experience.
Job description
League One Volleyball (LOVB) is reimagining women's sports. Launched in 2019, our company is a mission-led sports performance, training and media enterprise that will change the game of volleyball in the USA and empower new generations of female athletes.
It is a groundbreaking time for volleyball in the US with our historic triple Olympic Gold medals in Women's Indoor, Beach and Sitting Volleyball. Volleyball is already the #1 most played girls' youth sport. There are 38M current and former players today. Of major sports, it's the only one that is women-first (~90% of players are female). But the volleyball market has been almost entirely missed by traditional sports investors, brands, and media.
LOVB is capturing this opportunity by creating a strong club business, and from that built-in audience and fandom, is creating the best Pro League in the world and a digital ecosystem that will connect all aspects of LOVB. This community-up approach will drive participation and fandom, while enabling greater empowerment for girls and young women living this amazing sport. In this role, you will join a mission-driven, roll-up-your-sleeves team of innovators and builders who have come together to change the paradigm of professional volleyball and women's sports.

About LOVB and LOVB Miami
LOVB Miami Volleyball is League One Volleyball's professional team in Miami, playing its inaugural LOVB Pro season in 2027. Built from the grassroots up through a network of junior volleyball clubs, LOVB Miami is part of the only professional league in the United States with a fully integrated youth-to-pro ecosystem. The club is shaping a new vision for professional sports in one of the world's most dynamic markets, built on elite competition, community, and the advancement of women's volleyball.
LOVB Miami is backed by a best-in-class ownership group of experienced operators and passionate volleyball supporters. We are building the first and greatest women's sports franchise in Miami, with deep resources, a network second to none, and unmatched ambition to be the best. Our ownership group is committed to a franchise that reflects the culture, energy and diversity of Miami: a cultural anchor of the community and an international beacon for women's sport with deep connectivity to Latin America.
This is a founding role. You will help build a professional sports club from a blank page in one of the most competitive and most international sports markets in the country.
The Role
The Vice President, Fan Experience is the senior brand and fan experience leader for LOVB Miami. You own everything that shapes how a fan discovers the club, decides to come, and what happens to them once they walk in: brand, marketing, social and content, game presentation, community programming, and fan data and lifecycle.
This role leads the club's marketing function with the exception of communications and public relations, which sit separately and with whom you will partner closely. Your job is not to run a marketing department in the abstract; it is to fill a building, build a habit, and make LOVB Miami feel like it has always belonged here.
You will do this in a market with more entertainment competition per capita than almost anywhere in the country, for a sport whose local audience is real but has never had a professional home. That is both the opportunity and the difficulty of the job.
You will sit on the leadership team. Given the start-up nature of the club, you will operate as a player coach: setting strategy while also executing and getting your hands dirty.
What You'll Own
Brand and market positioning
- Translate the LOVB brand platform into a distinctly Miami club identity: voice, visual language, matchday atmosphere and traditions.
- Build experiences that speak credibly to Miami's multicultural communities, rather than treating multicultural marketing as a translation exercise.
- Establish naming, look and feel for matchday assets, promotional calendar, theme nights and club rituals that will outlive the inaugural season.
- Serve as brand steward across every fan touchpoint, including ticketing communications, retail, partner activations and venue signage.
Matchday and game presentation
- Own the end-to-end matchday product, reflective of the club's brand positioning: run of show, music and sound, in-arena host, video board, entertainment, promotions, giveaways and post-match moments.
- Design the arrival and departure experience: ingress, concourse, activations, retail, wayfinding, family and youth zones, and fan zones.
- Build and manage the game presentation crew, scripts, vendors and production budget.
- Establish service standards and a fan feedback loop, and act on the insights.
Marketing strategy and demand generation
- In partnership with the President and the VP, Ticketing and Sales, own execution of the annual marketing plan and budget, built backwards from ticket revenue and attendance targets.
- Direct paid media strategy and agency or freelance partners across digital, social, audio, out-of-home and local broadcast.
- Own the club's owned channels: website content, email, SMS and app presence, in coordination with league digital.
- Partner with the VP, Ticketing and Sales to build the season launch campaign, single-match campaigns, and the promotional and giveaway calendar in step with the sales calendar.
- Direct market research, fan segmentation and post-match survey work to keep decisions grounded in evidence rather than instinct.
Content and social
- Partner with the President to set content strategy across all club channels, and manage the Social Media Manager in building an always-on publishing operation.
- Lead the Social Media Manager in executing the athlete storytelling program, working with the roster, coaching staff and league.
- Integrate partner and sponsored content into organic storytelling without degrading it.
Community and grassroots
- Oversee the coordinator building the connective tissue between the professional club and the local volleyball ecosystem, including Club 305 Volleyball, Game Point Volleyball, and area high school and collegiate programs.
- Design club nights, youth clinics and school programs that convert participation into attendance.
- Own the community relations calendar, player appearances and the club's local cause platform.
Fan data and lifecycle
- Build the fan database from launch: acquisition sources, consent, hygiene, segmentation and governance.
- Own lifecycle marketing from first touch through renewal, working with Ticketing on conversion of deposits and leads.
- Establish the club's reporting rhythm on audience growth, engagement, attendance drivers and campaign performance.
Team and organizational leadership
- Hire, coach and retain a small, capable team, and set the standard for how they work together.
- Manage the department budget with monthly accuracy and forecast discipline.
- Sit on the club leadership team and contribute to decisions well beyond marketing.
- Represent LOVB Miami with the league office and with peer clubs, sharing and importing what works.
First-Season Priorities
In the first twelve months, this role is measured less on polish than on what gets built. Priorities include:
- A club brand identity and matchday concept that is complete, tested and ready before the inaugural home match.
- A launch campaign that produces measurable ticket demand, not just impressions.
- A fan database of meaningful scale, with clean segmentation and a working lifecycle program.
- A social and content operation publishing consistently, with a defined athlete access model.
- A grassroots program with at least [X] partner clubs and schools formally activated.
- A first full season of matchday feedback captured and turned into a documented season two plan.
What You Bring
Required
- 10 to 12 years in marketing, brand or fan engagement, including at least 5 years leading and developing a team.
- Experience at a sports property: club, league, venue or governing body.
- Demonstrated ownership of marketing that drove attendance or ticket revenue, with numbers you can speak to.
- Direct experience with game presentation or live event production.
- Comfort operating as a player coach. You will build the plan, and you will also write the brief, sit in the run of show meeting, and be in the building executing on match nights.
- Budget ownership and vendor or agency management experience.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays throughout the competition season.
Preferred
- Experience launching an expansion club, a new league, or a new market.
- Background in women's sports, or in an emerging or challenger property where resources were tight and creativity was the differentiator.
- Established relationships in the South Florida market: media, community organizations, venues, creators.
Who We're Looking For
- Intellectually curious. You want to understand how businesses and categories really work, and you learn fast.
- A first-principles thinker. You reason from the ground up, and consensus alone does not move you.
- Energized by ambiguity. You do your best work without a playbook and bring structure to undefined problems.
- Off-the-charts EQ. You read people and rooms well, and you earn trust quickly with founders and operators.
- Low ego. You care about the outcome over the credit, change your mind when the facts do, and let the best idea win.
- A high velocity operator. You treat speed as an edge, moving with purpose and deciding faster than expected.
- Relentlessly resourceful. You find a way, improvising and exhausting every option before accepting no.
- Drawn to hard problems. You run toward the fire and take ownership of whatever is broken.
- Mission-aligned. You believe deeply in the LOVB youth-to-pro vision and the long-term opportunity in women's sports.
How Success Is Measured
- Matchday satisfaction, net promoter score and season-over-season repeat attendance.
- Home attendance and sell-through against plan.
- Marketing-attributed ticket revenue and cost per acquisition.
- Fan database size, quality and engagement rates.
- Audience growth and engagement across owned social and content channels.
- Retention and development of the team you build.
Compensation and Benefits
Benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage; 401(k) with company match; paid time off; paid parental leave; and team merchandise and ticket allocation.
This is a full-time position based in Miami, Florida. Availability for all home match days, including evenings and weekends throughout the LOVB Pro season, is required.
