Job description

Wrangell Medical Center PA Position

Provides comprehensive family medicine services within the scope of training and experience to people of all ages and genders.

Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job

  • Provides comprehensive primary care including, but not limited to, diagnosis, treatment, minor procedures, coordination of care, referrals, preventative care, prenatal care and health maintenance to a dedicated panel of patients, including those in the Wrangell Long-term Care environment.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of services in accordance with SEARHC policy.
  • Provides optimal patient experience using strong listening and communication skills.
  • Builds long-term patient care relationships.
  • Consults SEARHC physician as needed for patient care and uses other access to specialists as needed (i.e., AristaMD, ANMC providers, etc.).
  • Provides medical services at facilities within the SEARHC care network and other facilities and locations listed in SEARHC's compact and funding agreement with the Indian Health Services.
  • Actively participates in SEARHC quality patient care initiatives and quality assurance programs.
  • Actively participates in provider meetings, clinic meetings, and SEARHC medical staff functions.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required

  • State of Alaska Medical License as an NP or PA
  • Board-certified in specialty by accrediting body
  • Maintains active, unrestricted DEA registration.
  • Maintains active SEARHC medical staff privileges
  • BLS required

Experience Required

  • Two years of experience as a practicing provider
  • Additional clinical experience or training prior to practice as a licensed provider may be considered by the Medical Director of Primary Care Clinics to meet this minimum experience requirement.
