Job description

Job Summary:
The Community Health Center of Buffalo (CHCB) is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Family Planning Department. The RN will deliver nursing care under the supervision of the Family Planning Medical Provider.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants.
- Triage patient phone calls and visits.
- Offer case management and care to patients requiring nurse-only visits.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
- Assist Medical Providers with examinations and procedures.
- Perform routine diagnostic tests and collect/process specimens.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers.
- Review lab results and report abnormal findings.
- Manage supplies for patient rooms and participate in quality improvement activities.
- Communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Maintain the integrity of medical records and provide patient education.
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
- Associates or Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of one year experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
- Three years of experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting.
- Experience with an Electronic Medical Record System.
- Experience working in Family Planning is a plus.
Physical Demands:
This role requires periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Some evening work may be required.
Salary Range: $32.87/hr. - $39.68/hr.
