OFFSET/FLEXO PRESS HELPER
Location: Napa, California
Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Employment Type: Full-time, On-site, Rotating shifts, Weekends occasionally

Reports To: Flexo Press Supervisor
Join our Team as a Offset/Flexo Press Helper!
Position Summary:
The Offset/Flexo Press Helper is responsible for supporting the operation of the Gallus RCS press in the production of high-quality labels. This role involves assisting the press operator with the setup, operation, and maintenance of the press, ensuring that production runs efficiently and meets quality standards. The RCS Press Assistant will help monitor production processes, handle materials, and perform routine press maintenance tasks.
The role requires a strong attention to detail, a mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. This role is vital in maintaining smooth press operations and minimizing downtime.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the press operator in the setup and operation of the Gallus RCS press.
  • Work with operator to achieve productivity and quality goals.
  • Load and unload substrates and materials, ensuring accurate material handling during production.
  • Monitor the press during production runs, ensuring that quality standards are maintained.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the press, such as cleaning and replacing parts as necessary.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving any production issues that arise during the print run.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area, following all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with ink mixing and color adjustments as needed.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area and press.
  • Help maintain production records, documenting materials used, production times, and any issues encountered.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a printing environment is preferred, especially with flexographic or digital presses.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge or experience with machinery is beneficial.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to understand and assist with the operation and maintenance of complex machinery.
  • Mathematical proficiency: Ability to work with fractions, ratios, and proportions, to ensure accuracy in measurements and calculations.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality control to ensure all printed materials meet specifications.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work closely with press operators and other production staff to ensure efficient production runs.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of assisting in troubleshooting press issues and resolving production problems.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage materials and tools, keeping the press area organized and efficient.
  • Time Management: Able to work efficiently under tight production deadlines and manage multiple tasks at once.
