Job description

Position Title:ย ย ย  Family Practice Physician

Description:ย  ย ย The physician is responsible for providing medical services at AAAโ€™s Victory health center and current or future satellite locations (as needed).ย ย 

Supervision:ย ย ย ย ย ย  Reports directly to CMO

Attendance at HIPAA and Compliance educational programs is a requirement of employment

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Provide primary care treatment in accordance with standard medical practice protocols
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Record medical history and provide physical examinations and follow-up care
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Provide individual patient instruction in accordance to prescribe treatment plan
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Prescribe appropriate medication to patients as needed according to medical protocols and standard medical practice
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Identify physical, nutritional and/or lifestyle problems and refer to appropriate on-site and off-site resources
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Identify psychological and emotional problems/issues and refer to on-site or off-site resources
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Consult with Chief Medical Officer or specialty physicians for patient evaluations as needed
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย In conjunction with Chief Medical officer, update Medical Protocols on an annual basis
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย In conjunction with Chief Medical Officer, adhere to and help administer Quality Improvement guidelines and participate inย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย AAAโ€™s Quality Improvement Program
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Supervise mid-level practitioners as assigned
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Work closely with Nutritionists/Health Educators in order to provide appropriate education to the patients
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Participate in Provider meetings and QI Meetings as required
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Serve as a preceptor instructor to Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or medical students as assigned
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Attend conferences and seminars when requested and comply with continuing education requirements.

  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Satisfactory completion of an accredited training program
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Current license in the State of California as a Family Medicine physician
  • ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Board Eligible / Board Certified
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Current CPR
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Minimum of one year of clinic experience, preferably at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Must relate well to all cultural and ethnic groups in the community
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Bi-lingual English/Spanish (preferred)
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Ability to be flexible
  • ย 
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Knowledge of medical practice related to outpatient health, occupational health, and group ย health as required.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Knowledge of medical policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Skill in developing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Skill in developing and maintaining medical quality assurance and quality control standards.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Ability to react calmly, objectively, and effectively in emergency situations.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
  • ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Strong interpersonal skills.
