Job description

Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care

Part-Time | Flexible Schedule | Little Elm/Frisco, TX

The Family Doctor, PLLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner (FNP preferred) to join our growing outpatient primary care practice in the Little Elm/Frisco area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an NP who enjoys practicing with a high degree of autonomy while still having physician support readily available. We are looking for someone who is confident, personable, efficient, and comfortable managing patients independently in an outpatient setting.

Position Overview

The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary care services, including preventive care, acute visits, chronic disease management, and women's health. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing a diverse patient population and developing long-term relationships with patients and families.

Schedule: Part-time, flexible
Setting: Outpatient private practice
Location: Little Elm/Frisco, Texas
Position Type: Part-Time

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Perform comprehensive and problem-focused examinations
  • Provide preventive care and routine health maintenance
  • Manage common chronic conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, thyroid disorders, and obesity
  • Provide women's health services, including well-woman examinations, contraception counseling, and routine gynecologic concerns
  • Provide appropriate primary care services for pediatric and adolescent patients within the practice's scope
  • Order and interpret laboratory testing and diagnostic studies
  • Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide patient education and counseling
  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-up care when appropriate
  • Collaborate with the supervising/collaborating physician and clinical staff to provide high-quality, patient-centered care

Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted Texas Nurse Practitioner license
  • Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification strongly preferred
  • Current prescriptive authority and DEA registration, as applicable
  • Previous outpatient primary care experience required
  • Comfortable practicing independently within NP scope of practice
  • Experience with women's health and pediatric/adolescent care strongly preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
  • Efficient with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
  • Dependable, professional, and patient-centered

Who We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in an experienced NP who can confidently manage their own patient schedule and who enjoys working in a smaller, physician-led practice rather than a large corporate environment.

The right candidate will have an opportunity to grow with the practice as patient volume and services expand.

Why Join Us?

  • Flexible part-time scheduling
  • Supportive physician-led environment
  • Autonomy in day-to-day patient care
  • Established outpatient practice
  • Diverse primary care patient population
  • Opportunity to provide women's health and pediatric/adolescent care
  • Potential for increased hours as the practice grows
  • Opportunity to become an important long-term member of the clinical team

To Apply

Please submit your resume/CV along with a brief introduction describing your primary care experience, current availability, and desired number of hours per week.
