Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The water cabinet maintenance technician / plumber maintains troubleshoots and repairs industrial plumbing systems, various piping systems and hydronic systems. 

Responsibilities

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Completes basic maintenance assignments involving but not limited to preventive and routine maintenance, corrective maintenance and emergency repairs, shift inspections, audits, cleaning, and any other task requested by the customer site and corporate management.
  • This includes repair and maintenance of flushometers, and drain line issues, as well as the maintenance, repair, and sanitizing of Aircraft Potable Water Systems to ensure clean drinking water per Federal and International regulations.
  • Maintains potable water systems providing clean drinking water to domestic and international airline passengers conforming to requirements of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Drinking Water Quality Pool (IDQP), United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Aircraft Drinking Water Rule (ADWR), and the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
  • Services, repairs and recertifies backflow prevention systems
  • Further, this position may perform maintenance, repair, and replacement of pumps and controls for a variety of sewage lift and de-watering stations, as well as the water supply to Triturator Systems and their waste discharge
  • Repairs and services drain and drain systems.
  • Assembles and installs plumbing fixtures, valves, fittings, and piping systems.
  • Tests various systems for proper operation, assembly, or to diagnose problems.
  • Completing various plumbing repairs and maintenance, including documenting work completed.
  • Utilize computer skills including email, Microsoft Word and Excel, and CMMS computer workorder systems software
  • Use of hand tools, power tools and meters for troubleshooting and repair of boarding bridges, portable water cabinets (PWCs) and any other boarding bridge associated ground support equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics as they relate to boarding bridges
  • Working on the controls for HVAC systems and air handling units.
  • Ability to understand refrigeration controls and power generation electronic components
  • Takes direction and seeks the guidance and expertise of senior level personnel and accepts training and mentoring from them.
  • Works in tight and/or high spaces utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
  • Follows and complies with all company, customer, and federally established policies and procedures.
  • Successfully and continually completes and maintains all applicable training courses assigned by the company.
  • Maintains all required certificates and licenses needed for performance of the work.
  • Completes all required safety courses.
  • Completes all required forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
  • Compliance with all safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs additional duties/assignments required by management.

 

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum 3 years of previous experience in the operation, maintenance, repair water systems: water quality testing, inspection, and backflow prevention. 
  • Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in an industrial environment.
  • Required certification for the state

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Previous work experience in an Airport environment.
    • Previous experience working on passenger boarding bridges
    • 5+ years industrial mechanical and/or electrical background
  • Advanced computer skills.

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Company's insurance policy
