Job description

The intern follows a disciplined process that assists with financial process improvement definition, user adoption techniques and assists with tasks as assigned by their supervisor. This position works mostly in support of internal customers in how to use finance applications and general Q&A, application testing, and general system admin activities and, at times, will support enhancement or project work as their experience and knowledge grows. 

The intern will develop a basic understanding of business processes and software technical understanding from their education achieved and/or prior work experiences.The intern role works on a consistent basis with their supervisor and on a limited basis with our stakeholder roles.

Minimum Requirements 

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future. 
  • Must be enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Businessat the time of the internship 
  • Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including overtime as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Be a rising or current Junior or Senior in college or university at the start of the internship program 
  • Have prior school or work experience in finance, accounting, and business 
  • Have at least one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and/or Outlook) 
  • Have previous experience working in a team-oriented setting including work experience, extracurricular activities, military service, etc. 
  • Previous experience in the Sherwin-Williams Corporate Finance Internship Program 
  • Serve as a SBS GTS application resource in developing, distributing, performing user training, and maintaining procedural documentation. 
  • Serve as a resource for all application related questions from end users. 
  • Actively engage with SBS GTS team to implement enhancements, and automation on a regular cadence. 
  • Research and initiate improvement opportunities for the region. 
  • Participate in application implementation projects as software solutions are introduced. 
  • Troubleshoot functional and technical issues 
  • Support system functionality and configuration: including configurations for new or enhanced functionality, change management content, using SharePoint, and Internal Communications channels, and configuring approval chains all in accordance with Global Governance. 
  • Support the usage of Global standardized policies and processes across Finance and Procurement.
